This morning Daddy and I have been playing games with Charlie and Lola on the computer. I really enjoy Charlie and Lola and so I thought that I would share them with you as well. If you click on the link below then you can play the games as well. My favourite came is called Count the Germs. Lola is feeling very poorly and so her brother Charlie suggests that they count all the different kinds of germs in Lola’s mouth by looking in the mirror. It’s great fun. Don’t forget to listen to Charlie sing ‘if you’re happy and you know it’ at the end.
That reminds me, I must go and clean my teeth.

Last weekend I took this picture at Wansford train station on the Nene Valley Railway. The station has been preserved as it might have looked during the days when steam locomotives were commonplace. You can read Isaac’s entry below to find out more about our day in the Nene Valley but I thought I’d post this picture which I think illustrates how our society has changed over the past few decades.Â

I don’t think that today such a marketing campaign would be all that effective.

You may recall a couple of weeks ago that Gran cut my hair. Well, no offence Gran but I decided to go and get it cut professionally on Wednesday by Dom.

What do you think? Scrub up nicely don’t I?

On Saturday, mummy, daddy and I got up really early in order to drive to Peterborough. Mummy had to go to a tutorial so daddy took me on the Nene Valley Railway. It just so happened to be the 30th Anniversary of the railway and to celebrate Thomas made a special appearance. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to go on Thomas because he spent the entire morning having a wash.

I had my bags packed and prepared to get on board the steam train

We did get to go on the Mayflower locomotive which was really noisy. It kept blowing its whistle and shooting steam high up into the air. Great to look at but don’t they know we’re experiencing a global catastrophe precisely due to such reckless emissions of CO2.

We spent the morning going up and down the line to the various stations. When we reached Yarwell Station we saw lots of people parachuting out of the sky.

When Mummy came back we drove to Cambridge for the Strawberry Fair – unfortunately mummy and daddy didn’t like the loud music and it was so crowded that we left almost as soon as we arrived. We headed into the more civilised part of Cambridge where I enjoyed a refined cup of Earl Grey.
Â
We had a lovely day basking in the sunshine of the university. This is Kings College, where I plan to study in a few years time. I just can’t decide whether to read philosophy or the history of Thomas the Tank Engine.

Here are a couple of interesting pictures that I took today on my short walk to work.

Polish Grocery store opens today. I particularly liked the plea to ‘Give us a Try’ which I thought could be interpreted in 2 ways, both from a commercial and a ethnological perspective. Needless to say I popped my head around the door to offer them best wishes using all the Polish that I knew, ‘Lech Walesa’.
A little further on I passed Notre Dame High School and noticed on the gates that familiar tape that police use to cordon off an area to be investigated. Being an inquisitive kind of a guy I sneaked a look around the gates and to my astonishment saw the following.

Hopefully, given that I had not heard anything on the news, this was a school art project. If so, I thought placing it next to the main road was a little insensitive to say the least, particularly for the other members of the chalk family.
To cheer me up following the shock of seeing such wanton disregard for school property, my good friend Mark reminded me of one of my favourite jokes which we heard Milton Jones tell when we were at Greenbelt.
My Dad’s always complaining about the price of drinks, 50p for a cup of tea, 75p for a coffee. I mean, it’s not even as if he told me he was coming round.
Thanks Mark
