The finest picture I ever did take

My favourite picture

I was looking through my photographs the other day and saw this picture that I took a couple of years ago.  For my friends stag weekend we went walking in the Welsh mountains on the Herefordshire border on a perfect spring day and I took this picture which I still think is the best picture that I’ve ever taken.  I hope you enjoy it too. Of course with the dreadful weather that we’ve had recently I thought you might like to remind yourself what blue sky looks like.

Here are a couple of other pictures taken on the same walk.

Needless to say, we got up to the usual stag weekend antics as well.

Greetings Jon, I hope you’re keeping well.

Rain stops play

What a miserable day. Rain rain rain rain rain. What’s worse is that our boiler keeps packing up and the house is very cold cold cold. Not only have I been unable to go out on my scooter but the rain has slowed down the building work also. Nevertheless the roof frame is almost on and soon they’ll be able to start felting in. Then the real fun begins, knocking down walls. Where’s me mallet?

A couple of pictures to update you.

Kathmandu ‘calling’

At 10.30 this morning our dear friends Jon and Nic took off from Heathrow Airport on route to Kathmandu in Nepal. Their mission (which they chose to accept) is not to climb Everest in memory of Sir Edmund Hillary who died this week, but to spend 2 years working for the Baptist Missionary Society. I’m sure that everyone who knows Nic and Jon well will be thinking of them regularly and remembering them in their prayers. Bon Voyage.

Happy New Year

How terribly rude of us.  More than a week has gone by now and no-one from The Bathtime Blog has had the decency to come on line to wish our readers a Happy New Year.

So I would like to take this opportunity now to raise a glass to each and every one of you and to wish you all a prosperous 2008.

For those of you who may be facing a new year with a sense of foreboding for whatever reason, may I wish you peace and fortitude.

As a matter of interest (to me anyway) since launching the blog we’ve received 4600 hits, only 4500 of which were by myself.  I’ve just been informed that my clustermap will soon be cleared to prevent it from looking like one big blob so for posterity I decided to post the map to show who has been reading the blog (or hitting the wrong button).

After what seemed a very long Christmas break the boys are back on the job and the extension is progressing well.  The roof frame is in place and all of a sudden the house is looking very large, almost embarrassingly so.  Whatever must the neighbours be saying?

It was raining too hard today to take any photographs but I’ll be sure to update you very soon.  I know you’re just itching to see.
